Living in Orillia gives you access to so many amazing adventure opportunities, many less than an hour away from downtown Orillia! We’ve put together a list of 10 different places you can visit to have memorable adventures with your family.

A Breath of Fresh Air Outdoor Sports

Distance: Right in Orillia! (Lake Couchiching Beach Park)

A Breath of Fresh Air provides kayak and SUP rentals to those wishing to enjoy the waters and beautiful scenery of Lake Couchiching. Visit Couchiching Beach Park between the main beach and the Port of Orillia to find A Breath of Fresh Air’s kiosk. They also provide ice hunt rentals for ice fishing in the winter!

Go Tours Hardwood

Distance: 17 minutes

While there are lots of things to do at Hardwood Ski and Bike, today we’re featuring their incredibly fun, easy and thrilling Trail Tour, which is completely accessible by segway! You won't believe how easy it is to learn the Segway before striking out through the Nice N Easy trails at Hardwood. There are lots of other activities at Hardwood Ski and Bike so make a day of it!

McRae Point Provincial Park

Distance: 18 minutes

McRae point is a provincial park on the banks of Lake Simcoe. You can swim, camp, launch your boat or hike through the lovely surrounding nature. Make sure when you visit you practice social distancing, avoid large groups and help keep our parks pristine by using garbage bins or taking trash home.

Horseshoe Resort

Distance: 21 minutes

Horseshoe Resort is a staple of Simcoe County! Well known for its amazing winter activities, Horseshoe Resort is an amazing year-round destination. The Valley Golf Course, Downhill Bike Park and Tiki Hut (serving grab and go food and beverage items) are open right now. You can also swim, slackline, paddleboard and more—and that’s just in the summer!

SMART Adventures

Distance: 21 minutes (at Horseshoe Resort)

SMART Programs stands for Snowmobile, Motorcycle, ATV Rider Training, and with over 100,000 students trained it’s easy to see why people keep coming back. If you’re interested in learning how to ride in a safe and enjoyable environment, check out SMART Adventures at Horseshoe Resort!

Lake Country Adventure Co.

Distance: 25 minutes

Lake Country Adventure Co., located on the east side of Lake Simcoe in Lagoon City just south of Orillia at the Brechin Dry Dock, is your answer to fun for the whole family. With Sea-Doos, Pontoon Boats, Fishing Boats and Bow Riders/Jet Boats available, they have a variety of rental equipment that should satisfy every member of your family.

Jack’s Urban Jungle

Distance: 32 minutes

Jack’s Urban Jungle is every kid’s dream! Bungee trampolines, ziplines, an aerial course, a dodge ball arena and more are all available for children to enjoy. With fitness and wellness a main part of the Jack’s Urban Jungle ethos, customers visiting our establishment will be encouraged to challenge their limits.

Wasaga Adventure Park

Distance: 46 minutes

Open, but with a limited capacity, Wasaga Adventure Park is where the real action is! Their facilities operate year-round and they offer some amazing adventure opportunities: paint ball, airsoft, laser combat, archery tag, axe throwing, and more are all available to anyone willing to take on the challenge.

Muskoka Zip Lines and Adventure Park

Distance: 54 minutes

Last month we talked about how Orillia is your gateway to Muskoka, so we would be remiss if we didn’t mention Muskoka on this list! First, we wanted to highlight Muskoka Zip Lines and Adventure Park. Nestled around Santa’s Village, the Muskoka Zip Lines and Aerial Park offers all the excitement of a modern aerial adventure park with the added bonus of being next to a bustling amusement park.

Adventure Sailing Plus

Distance: 51 minutes

If you’ve ever been interested in learning how to sail, head to Adventure Sailing Plus in Penetanguishene! Ray and Frank provide excellent sailing courses for those looking to explore Ontario’s great lakes. From weekend to week-long courses, this is the perfect opportunity to test your mettle and learn a new skill.
